At Ardent Africa, we are committed to ensuring that every donation you make reaches legitimate causes and creates meaningful impact. Our Donor Guarantee is our commitment to protecting your contributions and ensuring complete transparency in how your funds are used.
We guarantee that if a campaign is found to be fraudulent, misuses funds, or fails to deliver on its promises, we will work to recover your donation and provide a full refund. Your trust and generosity deserve nothing less than complete protection.
Ardent Africa Foundation Causes
The Ardent Africa Foundation operates verified fundraising and hybrid causes on the Platform. These causes are automatically verified, clearly marked with Foundation trust badges, and accept donations with no platform fee deduction.
While public crowdfunding for ordinary users is being rolled out, Foundation causes are the primary public fundraising path on the Platform. The protections in this guarantee apply to Foundation and user-led campaigns alike.
How We Protect You
Fraud Protection
We actively monitor all campaigns for fraudulent activity and take immediate action against any suspicious behavior. Our AI-assisted moderation system flags potential issues before they impact donors.
Verified Campaigns
Campaigns with our verification badge have passed our review process or are official Ardent Africa Foundation causes. Foundation causes are automatically verified and clearly labelled. User-led campaigns must complete identity checks, documentation review, and administrative approval before receiving the badge.
Financial Transparency
Campaign creators must provide impact reports showing how funds were used. Standard fundraising campaigns show fee transparency where applicable. Foundation causes use a zero platform fee path and do not display the standard crowdfunding fee breakdown. See our Fees page for details.
Impact Reporting
Campaign creators are required to submit detailed impact reports with photos, receipts, and documentation. These reports are verified by our team before publication.
Campaign Verification Process
Foundation Causes (Automatic)
Causes created by authorised Ardent Africa Foundation accounts are automatically verified and display Foundation trust badges on the Platform. Donations to these causes use the Foundation zero-fee path, so the full gift supports the cause.
Identity Verification
For user-led campaigns seeking Verified Cause status, creators must provide government-issued ID and proof of address. We verify identity through multiple channels to ensure authenticity.
Documentation Review
User-led campaigns must submit supporting documentation proving the legitimacy of their cause, including photos, official documents, and detailed descriptions.
Administrative Review
Our team of administrators reviews each Verified Cause application, checking for compliance with our policies and verifying all submitted information.
Ongoing Monitoring
Verified campaigns are continuously monitored for compliance. We track fund usage, impact reporting, and respond to any donor concerns.
Refund Policy
We understand that circumstances may change, and you may need to request a refund. Our refund policy is designed to be fair, transparent, and protective of both donors and legitimate campaign creators.
Fraudulent Campaign
If a campaign is found to be fraudulent or misuses funds, we will work to recover donations and provide full refunds to all affected donors.
Campaign Cancellation
If a campaign is cancelled before funds are disbursed, all donations are automatically refunded to donors within 5-7 business days.
Unauthorized Transaction
If you notice an unauthorized donation on your account, report it immediately. We will investigate and provide a full refund if confirmed.
Change of Mind
You may request a refund within 30 days of donation if the campaign has not yet disbursed funds. Refunds are subject to review and approval.
Funds Already Disbursed
Once funds have been withdrawn by the campaign creator, refunds may not be available unless fraud or misuse is proven.
How to Request a Refund
- Visit Your Profile: Log in to your Ardent Africa account and navigate to your profile page.
- Access Donation History: Click on "My Donations" to view all your past contributions.
- Select Donation: Find the donation you wish to refund and click "Request Refund".
- Provide Reason: Explain why you're requesting a refund. This helps us improve our platform and address any issues.
- Review & Processing: Our team will review your request within 3-5 business days. Once approved, refunds are processed within 5-10 business days and returned to your original payment method.
Important: Refund requests must be submitted within 30 days of the donation date. Refunds for donations made more than 30 days ago may be considered on a case-by-case basis, especially in cases of fraud or campaign cancellation.
Financial Transparency
We believe in complete transparency in how your donations are used. Every campaign creator is required to provide detailed impact reports showing exactly how funds were allocated and what impact was achieved.
Foundation causes do not show the standard crowdfunding fee breakdown because donations to those causes use the zero platform fee path. For standard public fundraising campaigns (when available), fee information is shown on the cause page and explained on our Fees page.

- Foundation Zero-Fee Path: Donations to Ardent Africa Foundation causes support the cause in full, with no platform fee deduction.
- Impact Reports: Campaign creators must submit detailed reports with photos, receipts, and documentation showing how funds were used.
- Public Review: All approved impact reports are published publicly on campaign pages for donor review.
- Verification: Our team verifies all impact reports before publication, ensuring accuracy and legitimacy.

If you have concerns about a campaign, suspect fraudulent activity, or notice any misuse of funds, we want to hear from you immediately. Your vigilance helps protect all donors and maintain the integrity of our platform.
- Campaign Page: Use the "Report Campaign" button on any campaign page to flag concerns directly.

- Response Time: We investigate all reports within 24-48 hours and take appropriate action, including campaign suspension, fund freezing, or refund processing if necessary.
Legal Protection
Ardent Africa operates in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations governing charitable giving and fundraising. We maintain strict data protection standards, secure payment processing, and comprehensive records of all transactions.
All donations are processed through secure, PCI DSS compliant payment gateways. Your financial information is encrypted and never stored on our servers. We work with trusted payment processors like Paystack and Hubtel to ensure the highest level of security for your transactions.
